Why is Laboratory Testing so Important for Quality Control

Any product that passes through rigorous production stages often goes unchecked even if it goes under the scanner of Quality Control procedures. Laboratory testing plays a key role in detecting or diagnosing any issue that often slips through cracks. It ensures that the end product is quality assured underpinned with analytical report and certification. These are some of the most effective laboratory testing procedures to make sure that the manufacturers can import and sell their products in their country confidently.

       Mechanical testing

Mechanical testing encompasses a wide range of quality control testing which thoroughly vets multiple characteristics of the products. The testing processes include checking the hardness, tensile, impact, breakage, toughness, elasticity, extreme temperature resistance, fatigue, scratch resistance, etc.

       Chemical testing

From consumer products to raw materials, chemical testing is important to check the chemical composition of the products. The testing aids in detecting impurities and inaccurate composition of the product. The testers are professionally trained for determining trace analysis, elemental analysis, trace metal testing, ID testing, etc.

       Care label testing

Products are incomplete without care labels as the consumers are dependent on those instructions for using a product. With laboratory testing, you can ensure the label content are perfectly placed and could be understood by the consumers. The testers also assure the care labeling meets the industry standards both nationally and globally.

       Compliance with RoHS

Restriction of Hazardous Substances or RoHS is a standard that needs to be adhered by the manufacturers to assure the products are free from any hazardous material. Some of the components and substances that are prescribed include lead, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, cadmium, polybrominated diphenyl ethers, etc. In a world which is in dire need to contribute to reducing environmental pollution, RoHS compliance has become the need of the hour for most of the product manufacturers.

       CE marking

CE marking is a certification parameter that needs to comply with health, safety, and environmental protection standards. This is important for product manufacturers working in and around the European Economic Area. Testing these standards also falls under the purview of some of the Quality Control laboratory testers.

       EMC check

Electromagnetic Compatibility or EMC is also a vital step to check the interaction of electrical and electronic equipment with its electromagnetic environment and with other equipment. This testing is required for electronic products such as TV, mobile phones, washing machines, etc.
